The International Symposium on Radiopharmaceutical Therapy (ISRT) 2026—under the WARMTH Initiative—is a high-impact regional programme dedicated to advancing radiotheranostics, nuclear medicine, and diagnostic imaging across Africa. Hosted at Loveworld Medical Centre in Lagos, Nigeria, the symposium is organised in collaboration with the International Centers for Precision Oncology (ICPO) and the Chris Oyakhilome Foundation International (COFI). The initiative promotes multidisciplinary workforce development, strengthens clinical capacity, and supports policy-level engagement for the sustainable integration of radiopharmaceutical therapy across the continent.

The two-day event (28–29 August 2026) includes a hands-on pre-symposium workshop in radiopharmacy and clinical theragnostics, followed by a comprehensive scientific programme addressing current barriers, emerging opportunities, and the future of theragnostics in Africa. With an expected attendance of 70–100 healthcare professionals from across East and West Africa, ISRT 2026 provides a continental platform for scientific exchange, collaboration, and policy advancement.

As part of its commitment to developing the next generation of leaders in theragnostics, ISRT 2026 is proud to introduce the Saul Hertz Best Abstract Award, established in honour of Dr. Saul Hertz (1905–1950), the pioneer of radioiodine therapy and widely recognised as the Father of Theranostics.

As part of its commitment to developing the next generation of leaders in theragnostics, ISRT 2026 proudly introduces the Saul Hertz Best Abstract Award, established in honour of Dr. Saul Hertz (1905–1950), the pioneer of radioiodine therapy and widely recognized as the Father of Theranostics. Generously sponsored by his daughter, Ms. Barbara Hertz, Curator of the Dr. Saul Hertz Archives, the award recognises outstanding early-career investigators whose research advances nuclear medicine, radiopharmaceutical therapy, molecular imaging, and precision oncology, inspiring innovation and excellence across Africa.
